Patty Cote

Dr. Patty Coté brings 30 years of experience in Texas public education, having served as a classroom teacher, campus leader, and district administrator. A founding member of The Reading League Texas, Dr. Coté has been involved with the chapter since its earliest days. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to improving literacy outcomes through evidence-aligned instruction. Her expertise spans elementary literacy, dyslexia services, special education, and the development of effective multi-tiered systems of support grounded in the science of reading. Dr. Coté believes that teaching every child to read is not only an instructional responsibility, but a moral imperative—and she is committed to ensuring that educators across Texas are equipped with the knowledge and tools to make that promise a reality.
